,Travel back some years with me.
I was that busy mom. Three little boys, building a business from home, coaching a team, traveling, achieving goals, “livin’ the dream”, right?! But as the years went by, I started unconsciously putting my health on the back burner. The “I’ll worry about that later” mentality.
I started grabbing fast food, kids left overs, comfort foods, sugar, sugar and some more sugar. Processed and convenient food – actually not food – “food related products” or junk. It brought strange comfort. It was my “helper”.
Who had time for preparing healthy meals?! No time, plus (hear the blame coming) no one in my family wanted to eat healthy anyway! So, ‘consequences be damned’ or ‘I’ll deal with it later’. Combine stress, lack of proper sleep, to the lack of nutrition and it becomes the perfect recipe for the body to start breaking down.
My body breaking down wasn’t just physical, but emotional and spiritual as well. My worry and anxiety increased, inflammation increased, physical pain increased. The systems of my body (digestion, neurological, immune) – were being assaulted by lack of real food, lack of proper sleep and addiction to stress (yes, it’s a real thing)!
Hindsight is 20/20 they say. It’s clear now that it was only a matter of time before I would be handed a diagnosis. In May of 2017, there it was – Microscopic Colitis. I was surprised. Wasn’t I too young to have real disease?
I got curious. I stared asking myself some real questions. Why had I never been willing to acknowledge the consequences for how I had been choosing to live day to day. I was all go, go, go and then fall into bed, to do it all over again tomorrow, and the excuse…wasn’t’ everyone?! Wasn’t that what I was supposed to be doing? Apparently not!
That diagnosis was A WAKE UP CALL. Within weeks I was introduced to life changing products, got off of numbing medications and am today I am symptom free of Colitis. You can hear “the rest of my story” on video in Hemp Products, here at Called to Awaken.
I wish you health – physical, emotional and spiritual health.
